A complete A1–A2 Korean course — from your first Hangul letter to TOPIK I
Twenty-eight lessons take you from reading Hangul to the end of A2. You will be able to handle everyday situations, describe your life, ask and answer questions, talk about the past and the future, and choose the right level of politeness for the person in front of you. Topic lessons give you the words; the 📐 Grammar Essentials lessons woven between them give you the machinery — particles and verb endings — to build your own sentences instead of reciting phrases.
Which level is this? Korean is measured on its own scale, the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean). Lessons 1–15 cover TOPIK level 1 (≈ CEFR A1) and lessons 16–28 cover TOPIK level 2 (≈ CEFR A2), following the grade 1–2 content of the National Institute of Korean Language's international standard curriculum. Finish the course and you are ready to sit TOPIK I.
Built in: 🔊 audio on every Korean word · a spaced-repetition review deck · flashcards · self-check quizzes · written exercises that check your answers · a learning journal · progress tracking.
Lessons 1–15. Read and pronounce Hangul, introduce yourself, count, order food, shop, talk about your home and your day, speak politely to anyone, and say what you did yesterday.
Lessons 16–28. Get around a Korean city, make plans, say what you can, must and may do, handle irregular verbs, link ideas into longer sentences, describe and compare — and put it all together on a trip to Korea.
Use these alongside the lessons — or come back to them after lesson 28 to consolidate.
Finished lesson 28? The intermediate course continues to TOPIK levels 3–4 with its own lessons, tools and progress.
